Jeju Shinhwa World Family Resort Guide 2026: Packages, Theme Park & What's Included

accommodation··By Team Korea Insider

Jeju Shinhwa World is the closest thing Korea has to an all-inclusive family resort. Stay at the on-site Marriott, Somerset, or Shinhwa Hotel, and your accommodation comes bundled with a theme park pass, water park access, free spa entry, a sky pool, and kids-stay-free deals. It's on Jeju Island, Korea's most popular vacation destination, surrounded by volcanic landscapes, beaches, and hiking trails.

Unlike mainland theme parks where you commute from a nearby hotel, Shinhwa World IS the resort — everything is on the same property. Check in, walk to the theme park, come back for lunch, swim in the pool, hit the water park, eat dinner at one of 20+ restaurants, and put the kids to bed without ever getting in a car.

Getting to Jeju

Jeju is a 1-hour flight from Seoul. Flights run every 15-20 minutes from Gimpo Airport — it's Korea's busiest domestic route.

RouteTimeCost
Seoul Gimpo → Jeju1 hour₩50,000–120,000 one way
Busan Gimhae → Jeju45 min₩40,000–80,000 one way

From Jeju Airport to Shinhwa World: 40 minutes by taxi (~₩25,000) or resort shuttle (book in advance).

Insider Tips

  • Stay 2-3 nights minimum — One night isn't enough to use all the included benefits. Two nights lets you do: Day 1 = Theme Park, Day 2 = Water Park + Spa, Day 3 = Explore Jeju Island.
  • Somerset for long stays — The kitchen saves ₩30,000-50,000/day in restaurant costs for a family of 4.
  • Book direct for best rates — shinhwaworld.com often beats Booking.com/Expedia for packages with benefits included.
  • Rent a car on Jeju — Shinhwa World is 40 min from the airport, and Jeju's best attractions (Seongsan Ilchulbong, Hallasan, beaches) require a car. ₩40,000-60,000/day.
  • Combine with Jeju exploring — Use Shinhwa as your base for 3-5 days and explore the island by car during the day.

FAQ

Is Jeju Shinhwa World worth it vs. Everland/Lotte World?

Different category. Everland and Lotte World are better theme parks (more rides, bigger scale). Shinhwa World is a better resort — the bundled water park, spa, pool, and accommodation make it ideal for relaxed family vacations. Think "resort holiday" not "theme park day trip."

What age is Shinhwa Theme Park best for?

Ages 3-10. The Larva zone targets younger kids specifically. Older teens may find the rides tame compared to Everland.

Do I need a car on Jeju?

For the resort itself: no. For exploring Jeju Island: strongly recommended. Public transport on Jeju is limited and slow.
